flux.vision, tobias.raayoni-last.com and randogoth.com. They were one site until October 2026, serving four audiences from a single dated list, which is the only format that can hold unrelated things at once. flux.vision is recovered from the Wayback Machine, where it had sat since being deleted in 2021: 90 articles, closed and maintained rather than updated. tobias.raayoni-last.com is the professional record, 97 articles back to 1999. randogoth.com is the technical work, 41 articles across six areas, served as an ANSI bulletin board. History starts here deliberately. The development history, the 266-row inventory that records why each article went where it did, the Wayback pipelines, the pruned articles, the source archives and the full-size images are kept beside the repo rather than in it, so a clone is the web presence and not the argument that produced it. REFACTOR.md is gitignored for the same reason. See README.md for where that material lives, and keep it: the sort is not reproducible from these three directories alone. Each site documents itself in its own README, including the traps that cost time and look like nothing when you get them wrong.
2.8 KiB
flux.vision, Kiritan Flux
The VJ and media-art career, 2003-2021, under the name Kiritan Flux. A closed body of work:
maintained, not updated. See REFACTOR.md §B in the working material.
Recovered from the Wayback Machine, since no local copy survived (checked and ruled out on the
cargo backup SSD). 89 articles and 232 images are in; the date-bounded CDX query and the
curl -sL gotcha are documented in REFACTOR.md §B.
Only the media-arts half lives here. Client and commercial credits went to
../tobias.raayoni-last.com/.
Building
uv run --quiet --with pelican --with markdown -- pelican content -o output -s pelicanconf.py
pelicanconf.py reproduces the original URL scheme exactly, so archived and inbound links resolve
rather than 404: flat {slug}.html articles, /section/, /tag/, /info/.
Sections
veejay 28 · performance 18 · installation 18 · blog 15 · curation 9 · sound 1
blog is excluded from the work listings (WORK_EXCLUDE) and has its own nav item, because those
entries are reports and essays rather than engagements.
kiritanflux.md publishes as /signing-off.html, since Pelican derives the slug from the title.
It is the closing post and carries the full 114-entry gig history, 2003 to 2021, across 11
countries.
Plugins
| Plugin | Does |
|---|---|
tileweight.py |
sizes each timeline tile from the entry itself: images, video, word count |
lostimages.py |
drops <img> and wrapping links whose file did not survive, leaving a comment naming it |
assetcheck.py |
flags Thumb:/Background: whose file is missing, so templates render a typographic card |
assetcheck.py is shared from ../tobias.raayoni-last.com/plugins/.
What did not survive
78 images are gone for good and Wayback holds no capture of them: 15 camera originals on an offline
drive, 16 client logos, 21 Bild-NN.png screenshots, and the rest one-offs. The Markdown keeps the
original references, because the reference records what was there. 19 tiles therefore show static
rather than a thumbnail, and 22 in-article images are stripped at build time.
content/images/ is empty, so anything referencing /images/ is among the losses.
Theme notes
Three layout traps, all of which fail silently:
- The gutter must not use
vw.overflow-y: scrollalways shows a scrollbar, vwcounts it, and anything full-bleed then overflows by the scrollbar width and the page scrolls sideways. - Direct children of
.containermust set padding with the-top/-bottomlonghand. Apadding:shorthand has the same specificity as the gutter rule and comes later in the file, so it resets the gutter to zero and text sits flush against the screen edge. - The nav panel occupies one corner, so it gets a lane on one side only. Symmetric gutters large enough for the panel crush the column at tablet widths.
